Some of the drawbacks of air suspension systems are due to their complexity and reliance on both mechanical and electrical components that they are made up of.
As vehicles age, the reliability of these components is affected and intermittent electronic faults can occur as they are exposed to prolonged moisture.
Mechanically the airbags themselves have a finite life and require replacement after several years.
