Pair of Heavy Duty Steering Arms / Bars for Land Rover Defender. Comes complete with three track rod ends to fit either Left Hand Drive or Right Hand Drive Defenders from 1983 through until 2016.
We have sold hundreds of these steering arms over the years and have always found the quality to be extremely high. The heavy duty steel bars are a vast improvement on the standard Land Rover factory fitted option which can be very sucseptible to knocks and bangs whilst any Defender ventures off road. This is due to a known issue with ground clearance - the vehicle's lowest points only need to make slight contact with tree stumps or a rock and this vulnerablility will cause a standard steering bar or track rod to bend beyond plausible use affecting both the wheel alignment as well as any steering ability. It is worth noting that even a slight bend in your Defender's steering bars will almost certain give you tyre wear along with poor on road handling.
Another real plus point to fitting these steering arms is when your Land Rover Defender has larger than standard tyres - even without an unintentional bang or knock the forces acting on the steering gear (especially when attacking obstacles off road) can result in kinking your steering bars with the consequence being costly steering issues. These are not merely issues for Land Rover Defender owners that venture off road, both contractors and farmers operating in ruts are at the mercy of their track rod becoming an issue.
These Steering Rods come as a pair and are made from solid 30mm diameter steel. These are then supplied with precisely machined left and right hand threads, locking nuts and good quality track rod ends.
