MUD worked in conjunction with one of the UK’s leading automotive lighting manufacturers to create a 100% British designed and manufactured product that uses only the highest quality components. This lamp is not some cheap and cheerful Chinese LED ‘technology’ adapted for use in a Defender. To highlight the quality of the MUD product each lamp is backed by an industry leading 10-year guarantee.
The MUD LED Interior Lamp utilises ceramic LED technology to provide 18 x more usable light than the traditional festoon bulb design and with a rating of 228 lumens is 400% brighter than the factory-fit Land Rover interior lamp. The lamp voltage range is 10-32v so the MUD Interior Lamp can be safely fiited to 24v vehicles.
With a colour temperature of circa 6,000K, the LED light output falls into ‘daylight’ classification providing better colour rendition, i.e. colours look more true to life.
Another neat feature of the MUD LED Interior lamp is the switchable white to red illumination function for improved night-time vision.
The MUD Interior LED Lamp will replace both front and rear interior lamps in the Land Rover Defender. You will need a plinth as pictured below to mount the MUD LED Interior Lamp in the rear of Station Wagon/Utility Wagons.
Do I need the Plinth?
You don't need a plinth to fit the LED Lamp in the front cab of the vehicle.
We recommend you use a plinth when fitting the lamp in the rear of station wagon models... However during the testing phase of development we found that older vehicles had a tendency to have a slight sag in the headlining which meant the lamp could be fitted without the plinth. The general rule is the newer the vehicle the more likely it is you'll need a plinth.
