LRC10138 – Genuine Land Rover Fixed Bright Silver Side Step Kit – Range Rover L460 SWB – 2022 Onwards – Equivalent to VPLKFSS001

A complete Genuine Land Rover fixed side-step kit with bright/silver tread finish for the new-generation Range Rover L460 short/standard-wheelbase model from 2022 onwards.

LRC10138 brings together the individual Genuine Land Rover components that make up Land Rover's VPLKFSS001 bright fixed-side-step virtual kit, giving you everything required under one LR Parts kit number rather than having to identify and order the individual component packs separately.

Vehicle Fitment

Suitable for:

• Range Rover L460 – 2022 onwards

• Short / Standard Wheelbase (SWB)

Not suitable for Long Wheelbase (LWB) Range Rover L460 models.

Fixed Bright / Silver Side Steps

These are fixed side steps, not the electrically deployable version.

Once installed, the steps remain permanently in position and provide a substantial lower stepping surface along each side of the Range Rover.

This version uses the bright / silver-finish step boards, giving the vehicle the contrasting factory-accessory appearance.

LRC10138 contains the Genuine Land Rover components required to replicate virtual kit VPLKFSS001:

• VPLKP0495 × 1 – Right-hand fixed side-step bracket set

• VPLKP0496 × 1 – Left-hand fixed side-step bracket set

• VPLKP0533 × 1 – Jacking point / fixing kit

• 2 × Genuine Land Rover bright / silver side-step boards

Full Set of Replacement Trim Clips Included

Fitting the side steps requires removal of sections of the original sill / rocker trim.

The plastic clips used on these trims can easily be damaged or broken during removal, particularly once they have been fitted to the vehicle for several years.

For that reason, we include a complete set of replacement clips and pins with LRC10138, so the installer does not have to rely on reusing old trim fixings.

What Does “Equivalent to VPLKFSS001” Mean?

VPLKFSS001 is Land Rover's virtual accessory kit reference for the bright / silver fixed side steps.

Rather than being one single physical box containing every component, the installation is made up from several Genuine Land Rover accessory and service-part kits.

LRC10138 brings those required components together as one complete LR Parts package.

Genuine Land Rover Components

This kit is assembled using Genuine Land Rover side steps, brackets, protective trims and fixing components.

For an accessory of this size, accurate bracket positioning and alignment is especially important. Using the correct Genuine Land Rover components means the parts correspond with the vehicle-specific mounting arrangement intended for the L460.

Fixed Rather Than Deployable

The finished LRC10138 installation is a conventional fixed side-step system.

The step boards are mounted using the dedicated VPLKP0495 and VPLKP0496 fixed-step brackets.

There are:

• No electric motors

• No deployable-step mechanism

• No additional deployable-step electronics

The steps remain permanently in position once fitted.

Installation

Fitting the L460 fixed side steps is a substantial accessory installation rather than simply bolting the step boards straight onto the vehicle.

Installation involves removal of sections of the sill / rocker trim and underbody components, installation of the dedicated mounting brackets and jacking-point components, modification of the relevant trim as specified by Land Rover and refitting the vehicle trim around the new steps.

We recommend installation by someone comfortable working with modern Land Rover body trim and following the official Land Rover accessory fitting procedure.

Important – Off-Road Clearance

The steps sit below the vehicle's original sill line and therefore reduce the available clearance along the sides of the vehicle.

This should be considered if the vehicle is regularly used in more demanding off-road conditions.

Mudflap Installation

If Genuine Land Rover mudflaps are being fitted at the same time, the side steps should be installed first, followed by the mudflaps.

Why Fit Fixed Side Steps?

The L460 Range Rover has a relatively high sill, and fixed steps provide a permanent lower stepping point for easier entry and exit.

They can be particularly useful for:

• Children

• Shorter passengers

• Older passengers

• Vehicles frequently carrying passengers

• Accessing roof-mounted equipment

Black or Bright Side Steps?

LRC10138 / VPLKFSS001 – Bright / Silver
Provides the contrasting factory-accessory appearance.

LRC10137 / VPLKFSS002 – Black
Provides a more understated all-black appearance, particularly well suited to vehicles fitted with black exterior trim packs.

The basic mounting system is the same; the principal visual difference is the finish of the step boards.
