The Phoenix Gold Z880 Ultra Compact 8” Sub is our smallest sub-woofer and its dimensions make it perfect for mounting directly onto the back of a Defender cubby-box. This will suit anyone who doesn’t want to raise the height of their cubby box to fit a MUD Sub-Locker, especially on aftermarket cubby-boxes where the height is typically taller than the factory cubby-box.
The overall dimensions of 290 x 210 x 70mm is up to 60% smaller than most standard under seat sub-woofers making it perfect for mounting on the back of a cubby-box in any Land Rover Defender.
Mounting on the rear of a cubby-box provides a neat unobtrusive appearance and mimics the factory-fit sub-woofer install.
The wiring input/outputs are all on the bottom of the sub-woofer so they can easily be routed to the head-unit underneath the cubby-box or under the centre seatbox plate.
When installing the unit onto the back of a standard factory fit Defender cubby-box (with a rear panel height of 230mm) the four fixing tabs supplied will need shortening. This is as easy as snipping the slotted section off the mounting tabs with side-cutters and then drilling a new 4.5mm fixing hole in each tab. See picture below.
The Z880 8" ultra-compact Active sub-woofer uses a fully aluminium enclosure. Despite its diminutive size, the powerful MOSFET amplifier delivers 80Watt RMS and up to 240W Max. The bass-level can be controlled by the remote controller.
PLEASE NOTE: The subwoofer is not supplied with an RCA Cable.
The cubby box is easy to install and will fit vehicles from 1984 throiugh to 2016. We have sold several hundred boxes so you can be sure the your purchasing a top quality product. It's available from large stocks in our warehouse for immediate dispatch.
