Half Height Rear Tailgate Door - Fits Land Rover Defender - 90 / 110 / 130 from 1984-2016
A side ways door that opens just like the original door, but is just half height!
Hot dipped galvanised frame coupled with a galvanised steel skin with electroplated zinc on the skin for an ideal finish ready painting.
Can be used in conjunction with the original Defender door handle, hinges and check strap. Just a case of swapping everything from your existing door to this new one. If you currently have a full rear door fitted you will need to move the striker which is bolted inside the body tub down 7cm lower. This is literally just 2 holes which are easily drilled.
The reason for this is we have put the position of the handle lower down than in the standard full rear door so it looks correct in relation to the overall size of the door. As if you cut a standard rear door in half the handle recess ends up being right at the top of the door which doesn't look so nice. This is unique on the market and looks superb!
If you are converting from a drop down tailgate then you will need to drill the new holes for the striker anyway.
Great alternative to the drop down tailgate as fitted to sort top and pick up models.
Comes complete with a hot dipped galvanised steel capping which finishes the top of to match with your tub cappings. (This is just pop riveted on so if you do not wish to paint, you can remove this, paint the door and then re attach with new pop rivets for a nice contrast).
